Triglav National Park | The Wild Alps
An immersive alpine journey through one of Europe's oldest National Parks. Slovenia is one of Europe's lesser-known conservation success stories. Over half the country is forested, and although it occupies less than 0.004% of the Earth's surface, it's home to around 1% of all known biodiversity. This carefully curated women-only journey led by adventurer and conservationist Holly Budge invites you deep into Triglav National Park and the Julian Alps to experience wild landscapes rooted in purpose. Hear firsthand from the park's head of nature and conservation, walk alongside one of the park's female rangers and botanists. Expect alpine adventure, forest immersion, exceptional locally sourced, sustainably produced food, and rare access to the people safeguarding its flora and fauna. This is luxury defined by connection, access, and immersion.
SLOVENIA | NATURE CONNECTION
Why Slovenia?
Slovenia sits at the crossroads of the Alps, the Mediterranean, and Central Europe. It has quietly become a global leader in conservation, sustainable land management, and wildlife coexistence. Here, brown bears, wolves, and lynx still roam. Forests are protected. Rivers run clear. And communities remain deeply connected to the land. This journey offers rare insight into how protection works when it is genuinely embedded in culture.
Hike through the dramatic Julian Alps, witness wild flower valleys and spectacular mountain passes
SLOVENIA | ADVENTURE
From our base at Hotel Bohinj, embark on a three-day hike guided by park ranger and botanist Tanja, who'll share knowledge you can't find in guidebooks. Gain insight into the challenges and solutions of protecting Slovenia's only national park. An electric boat carries you across Bohinj Lake, before you begin your climb through the forest to Dom na Komni high in the mountains, then descend into the Soča Valley and Trenta, with mountain huts as the group's refuge.
In May, meadows burst with primroses, daffodils, gentians, orchids, and alpine asters. You'll pass glacial lakes and WWI memorials. Each step deepens your connection to nature, yourself, and to a deeper understanding of what it takes to protect such beauty.
Meet the woman bringing forest soundscapes to life
SLOVENIA | NATURE CONNECTION
Experience Slovenia's woodlands like never before with forest melodies. Guided by Maja, a forest therapist and local guide, experience tree bathing and meditation where you'll discover the forest as a dynamic system alive with sound and rhythm. Together, you'll create a forest melody, exploring individual trees while learning about Bohinj's disappearing artisanal traditions. The experience concludes with a forest tea ceremony, hammock relaxation, a sound bath, and natural reflexology, offering deep renewal and profound connection with Slovenia's living ecosystems.
Witness the breathtaking Soča valley through the eyes of its wildlife rangers
SLOVENIA | ALPINE EXPLORATION
The Soča River, one of Europe’s most beautiful and cleanest Alpine rivers, winds through emerald gorges and crystalline pools beneath towering mountains. Andrej, head of nature and conservation for Triglav National Park, guides the group through balancing wildlife-human coexistence, protecting lynx, bears, and endemic species, and supporting the communities who call this land home. The hike finishes in Trenta, at the very source of the Soča, where traditional Alpine farmhouses and shepherd huts remain as they have for centuries, a testament to the enduring bond between people and this remarkable landscape.
Meet the women preserving Slovenia's cultural traditions through deep connection with the land and nature
SLOVENIA | CULTURE & FOOD
Experience intimate gatherings with remarkable Slovenian women whose lives are intertwined with these natural landscapes. Lucija welcomes you into her world of traditional Alpine cheese making. Michelin-starred chef Ana Ros reveals her philosophy of celebrating wild ingredients and sustainable practices. Walk with an expert botanist through wildflower meadows and mountain trails, from delicate endemic species found nowhere else on Earth to ancient medicinal plants. These are not typical encounters - you'll share stories, meals, and moments with women who embody the cultural heritage and environmental stewardship that make Slovenia so special.
Reset at Lake Bohinj with wild swimming in pristine Alpine waters and luxury spa wellness experiences unique to Slovenia
SLOVENIA | WELLBEING & SPACE
Your journey begins and ends at Hotel Bohinj, a luxury spa retreat nestled on the shores of Slovenia's largest glacial lake, surrounded by the Julian Alps. Between adventures, return to this sanctuary for rejuvenation, soak in thermal pools overlooking mountain peaks, and indulge in treatments using Slovenia's renowned honey products and local Alpine botanicals. Slovenia's ancient beekeeping traditions infuse the wellness experience with honey-based therapies. Lake Bohinj's crystal-clear waters invite wild swimming throughout your stay, offering an invigorating connection with nature within Triglav National Park.
Witness Slovenia's brown bears in their natural habitat
SLOVENIA | HUMAN-WILDLIFE COEXISTENCE
Experience the privilege of observing Slovenia's native brown bears at dusk, in the dense forests of south-western Slovenia. A local wildlife expert guides you deep into ancient woodlands to a safe lookout, where wide windows offer intimate views without disturbing these magnificent creatures. While sightings cannot be guaranteed, it’s wildlife after all, you may witness bears, foxes, martens, deer, badgers, and occasionally wolves. This responsible wildlife encounter offers a window into Slovenia's conservation success, where ancient forests sustain healthy populations of Europe's largest predators. The experience captures the essence of coexistence between humans and wildlife in one of Europe's most ecologically intact landscapes.
